Add/View Loads

Add/View Loads allows user to create a new load sets or load cases using 3D-graphical selection in the main window. User can also view loads including traffic loads and wind gird in the main window.

Add Loads
  • 1- Select elements/nodes
  • 2- Create a name for Load Set or Load Case
  • 3- Assign Load Type
  • Note: Load type will be enabled after selecting elements/nodes.
1- Select elements/nodes
3D Selection

There are 3 options available:

3D Box Selection which user can performs a selection of all elements inside the cube defined as follows:

  • Hold Shift and select starting node.
  • Hold Shift and select node for X -offset.
  • Hold Shift and select node for Z -offset.
  • Hold Shift and select node for Z -offset.
Rubber band Selection which user can performs a selection of all elements inside the block defined as follows:
  • Hold Shift and select starting point.
  • Release mouse when selection is finished.
Element Selection which user can performs a selection of all elements on a linear selection of elements, defined as follows:
  • Hold Shift and select first element.
  • Hold Shift and select second element.
Side Views Adjust the view in different direction: South, North, East, West and Top.
Structure Enable structural components which need to be included in the 3D Selection.
Actions
  • Clear Selection which clears all selected elements.
  • Save Selection as Assemblies which allows to save the selection in assembly. A name for new assembly is required and options to insert before or after in the exiting tree are offered.
Parts Only those parts which are enabled will be selected. The same behavior will occur with selection of Deck or Pier elements.
2- Select Load Set/Load Case
  • Check only the needed structural elements that are required in the selection for Nodes, elements, tendons, spring and cables. Multiple selection can be performed.
  • Specify the name of the load set or load case (by selecting appropriate radio button).Name can be either selected from existing names (by using arrow next to the edit box) or can be created a new one by typing its name or clicking on Add/Edit button.
3- Assign Load Type
Assign from the load selection by double-clicking on the desired load type

After these steps, a newly created load will be displayed. Note: The "Display Loads" checkbox should be enabled to see the loads
